Media Distributor Helps Catholics Go Wireless

DENVER, Colorado, SEPT. 1, 2006 (Zenit.org).- Catholic Mobile just might be the answer for busy Catholics who want to keep God at the center of their lives.

Developed in partnership with Denver-based JP2 Media, and the San Diego-based Missionaries of Faith Foundation, the wireless information provider can send the latest news of the Pope or daily readings directly to cell phones or mobile devices.

"Make your phone...100% Catholic" is the logo on their Web site www.mobilecatholic.com.

"We feel that Catholic Mobile is a tool that will enhance the mobile experience for users of our service," said Catholic Mobile spokesman Alejandro Bermudez.

Using a text messaging service, users can receive daily prayers and the saint of the day, as well as personalize their phones by downloading Catholic wallpapers and ring tones.

"The Catholic community looks for new ways to remain centered on God and our Catholic faith as well as to bring the message of peace and hope to as many people as possible," stated Alan Napleton, president of The Missionaries of Faith Foundation.

Catholic Mobile, and the Spanish service Móvil Católico, is currently available in the United States, Canada, Argentina and Mexico, and by 2007 will be available in Brazil, Spain and Australia.
