LOUVAIN, Belgium, SEPT. 25, 2006 (Zenit.org).- Father Ross Shecterle of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee has been appointed the rector of the American College of the Immaculate Conception, effective next July 15.
Bishop David Ricken of Cheyenne, the chairman of the U.S. bishops' Committee for the American College of Louvain, made the announcement Friday during the formal opening of the seminary's 150th year.
Father Shecterle will succeed Father Kevin Codd, a priest of the Diocese of Spokane, who will be completing a six-year term as rector.
Father Shecterle now serves on the formation faculty of the North American College in Rome as director of counseling services.
Ross Shecterle was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1960 and was ordained a priest in May 1986. His degrees include a Ph.D. in pastoral counseling from Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland.
He is a licensed professional counselor of the state of Wisconsin.
