BAGHDAD, Iraq, APRIL 28, 2003 (Zenit.org).- Caritas International, in coordination with Caritas-Iraq in Baghdad, is studying the priorities for postwar humanitarian aid.
At the same time, members of the Caritas-Iraq liaison office in Jordan, along with a coordinator of Caritas International's emergency response team, have sent urgently needed medicines to Caritas centers in Baghdad.
This past weekend, members of the reconnaissance mission held working sessions with local bishops and heads of Caritas' 14 distribution centers in Iraq.
Caritas' network is planning to send a convoy of humanitarian aid this week. Its departure has been delayed repeatedly because of the absence of security guarantees.
