Xt3.com, a Catholic social networking site started by the Archdiocese of Sydney, has launched an interactive countdown calendar to help pilgrims prepare for World Youth Day (WYD) 2013 in Rio de Janeiro.
The online calendar will feature daily reflections for World Youth Day pilgrims, as well as for those who cannot attend World Youth Day in Rio, but would like to be part of the WYD experience online.
The calendar was launched last Thursday, which marked 75 days to go until World Youth Day, and also was the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord. According to Xt3.com, the date was chosen to coincide with the theme for World Youth Day 2013: “Go and make disciples of all nations” – the final words said by Jesus before he Ascended into Heaven.
Xt3’s WYD countdown calendar begins with a reflection on the theme and message for World Youth Day Rio.
According to their website, Xt3.com has provided a series of online calendars for youth during the seasons of Lent and Advent as well. With the World Youth Day calendar, Xt3.com will provide multimedia content, podcasts, articles and WYD promotion videos to provide information to both pilgrims and youth leaders.
The calendar is also available in a mobile-friendly format and is accessible on all Smartphone and Tablet devices.
