Clerical-Dicastery Official Named to Eger

VATICAN CITY, MARCH 15, 2007 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI has appointed Archbishop Csaba Ternyak, secretary of the Congregation for Clergy, to lead the Hungarian archdiocese of Eger.
Archbishop Ternyak, 53, succeeds Archbishop Istvan Seregely, 76, who had presented his retirement for reasons of age, according to the Holy See's announcement today.
Csaba Ternyak was born Dec. 4, 1953, in Fertoszentmiklos, Hungary. He was ordained a priest in 1979 and a bishop in 1993. In December 1997, he was made secretary of the Congregation for Clergy.
