The Schoenstatt Movement is celebrating its 100th anniversary this month, and various global television channels will be broadcasting the events worldwide.

In addition to EWTN, the German radio station Domradio, Cologne, the Schoenstatt–TV production company, and the Brazilian channel Canção Nova, with some 500 associated stations, are among the broadcasters.

The main celebrations in Germany will take place in Vallendar, a little town close to the Rhine where Father Joseph Kentenich founded the Movement on October 18, 1914. The founding of Schoenstatt took place in a small chapel which is now known as the Original Shrine. The Schoenstatt Movement has spread from there into about 100 countries worldwide.

The celebrations in Schoenstatt, Germany, will be from Thursday, October 16th, to Sunday, October 19th. The four main celebrations will be transmitted by the channels listed above.

Those activities in the local Western Europe time are:

*the welcome celebration on Thursday, October 16th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.;

*the Friday vigil, on October 17th, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00p.m.

*the Mass on Saturday, October 18th, , from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and the renewal of the Covenant of Love, on the same day, between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. October 18th is the day when the one hundred years of Schoenstatt is commemorated.

Additionally, other events will be transmitted through the internet, via www.Schoenstatt-TV.de, like the Mass of the Families, on Sunday, October 19, at 10:00 a.m.

The celebrations in Rome will take place from Thursday, October 23th to Sunday, October 26th.  The main celebration will be at the Vatican at the Paul VI Hall, on Saturday, October 25.  It will begin at 11:00 a.m. with an encounter with different Church Movements. The theme of the encounter will be: Mary, Mother of the Evangelizing Church. The goal of this meeting is that of strengthening unity among the different spiritualties, with which the Church is enriched.

The encounter with Pope Francis will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Experiences about Schoenstatt’s history and mission, as an offer to the Church and the world, will be shared with him.

The entire encounter will be televised by CTV, Vatican Television Center, and it will be re-transmitted through EWTN to the entire world, and through Canção Nova, for Brazil.

On Sunday, October 26, at 9:30 a.m. Holy Mass will be held at the Basilica of Saint Peter’s for the Schoenstatt Family; the main celebrant will be Cardinal Francisco Javier Errázuriz, who belongs to the Community of Schoenstatt Fathers.
