The Vatican announced Friday in a simple statement that the heads and members of the dicasteries of the Roman Curia have been provisionally confirmed.

At the beginning of the “sede vacante,” these posts automatically become vacant.

It is then up to the new pontiff to choose who will have the leadership roles in the Curia.

The statement from the Vatican stated that “The Holy Father wishes to reserve time for reflection, prayer, and dialogue before any final appointment or confirmation.”
