Italian Prime Minister Meets With Pontiff

VATICAN CITY, AUG. 27, 2012 (Zenit.org).- The Vatican reported that Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti today met with Benedict XVI.
The politician also had a meeting with the Pope's secretary of state, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone.
A Vatican statement said that discussions centered on the situation of Europe, including the main challenges the continent is facing. The Pope and Monti also considered the contribution Europe's citizens, "and above all, young generations, can offer to its human and spiritual development."
