JERUSALEM, FEB. 7, 2005 (Zenit.org).- A course for the spiritual renewal of priests is being offered in Jerusalem.

The course, entitled “‘Follow me!’ — In the Footsteps of Christ in the Holy Land,” is being promoted by the Vatican Congregation for Clergy and coordinated by the Rome-based Sacerdos Institute.

The program incorporates prayer, daily adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, conferences, a refresher seminar on the Bible, pastoral workshops and guided tours.

The Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center, a pontifical institute located near the Holy Sepulcher, is the venue for the course.

There are two sessions of the course to choose from: July 15-Aug. 3, and Jan. 21-Feb. 9, 2006. The activities can be followed in English, Italian and Spanish, with simultaneous translations.

The Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center is a religious, charitable, cultural and educational presence of the Holy See in the Holy City. The center offers hospitality to pilgrims, especially clergy and consecrated persons.

The century-old Notre Dame Center has been a Holy See property since 1970. In December 1978, John Paul II signed a decree to establish it as a pontifical institute and ecumenical center.

The center can accommodate 280 people. It has conference and meeting rooms, and one of the largest and most modern auditoriums in Jerusalem.

John Paul II recently entrusted the direction of the pontifical institute to the Legionaries of Christ.
