In line with the project of feeding the language of the soul, sure that “beauty will save the world,” Cristiana Pegoraro, international musician called by the New York Times “an artist of the highest caliber” has started a tour with 20 stops between Italy and the USA.

For these 20 stops of the tour, whose title is “Omaggio all’Italia,” Pegoraro chose a program of Italian composers and composers inspired by Italy, such as Rossini, Beethoven, Verdi and Liszt, Puccini and Bizet, including Scarlatti, one of the greatest musicians of the Barocco period.

Pegoraro plays also a varied repertoire ranging from classic of Cuban music of Ernesto Lecuona and the tangos of Piazzolla.

After the initial tour dates in Rome, Umbria, Trentino and Piemonte, Cristiana is in the US, where she will represent Italy during the “Italian language and culture month,” with 12 dates in the states of New York, Connecticut and Oklahoma.

The first event was Oct. 19, held at the Italian Cultural Institute of New York, where Cristiana, after her performance, presented the 2016 edition of the Narnia Festival (www.narniafestival.it), a great kermesse of art, music and culture, that takes place annually in Umbria in July.

“We – she said to ZENIT – are convinced that Beauty will save the world and for that we created a place where we are able to favor the language of the soul, with music, dance, poetry, song, literature, spirituality, good food and a lot of friends to share it. All surrounded by beautiful artistic and architectural works.”

The Festival – founded by Pegoraro, who is also the art director – proposes shows of internationally acclaimed artists, with the backdrop of medieval architectural beauties of the city of Narni. There is also an educational component, provided by the Campus Internazionale di Alto Perfezionamento Artistico which has over 200 young artists participating every year from the most important universities from all over the world, such as The Juilliard School of New York, the conservatory Tchaikovsky of Moscow, the Mozarteum of Salisubrg, and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia of Rome.

“The mission of our lovely Italy and our people that represent it – underlined Pegoraro – is that of bringing beauty and joy in the entire world. A mission today more than necessary, because we have to transmit to the new generations the joy and the hope that light their minds, and their hearts.”

It’s a great occasion also because the 2016 edition of the Narnia Festival happens during the Jubilee of Mercy.

“The Narnia festival – concluded Pegoraro – is a place where beauty becomes a universal language to unite different cultures, religions, social conditions, together to build a new humanism and a better world”.

The American tour of Cristiana will end Nov. 17, with a concert at Carnegie Hall of New York.

Pegoraro will conclude her tour in Italy, with one concert in Palermo and two in Rome.

The last date before Christmas will be Dec. 8 at the Basilica del Sacro Cuore Immacolato di Maria, with a great production where she’ll be the protagonist along with 70 musicians from the Orchestra L’Armonica Temperanza and two chorus, St Paul’s Choir of Rome and ResAlteraVocal Ensemble, directed by Maestro Lorenzo Porzio. This will happen during the opening of the Jubilee of Mercy called by Pope Francis.
