New Cistercian Monastery in Chile Gets First Vocations

SANTIAGO, Chile, FEB. 2, 2001 (Zenit.org).- Just two months after the inauguration of a Cistercian monastery near here, the two first postulants have been received, who wish to share the charism of the Cistercian order with the monks.

The monastery was founded Dec. 2 by the Italian Congregation of St. Bernard, in the Diocese of Maipu, erected in 1987, which embraces a large area south of the Chilean capital and the border province of Maipu.
