VATICAN CITY, MAY 30, 2011 (Zenit.org).- The apostolic nuncio of the Czech Republic will now be representing the Pope in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
Benedict XVI on Saturday appointed Archbishop Diego Causero, 71, to this new post. He succeeds Archbishop Francesco Canalini, who has retired at age 75.

He was named the apostolic nuncio to Chad in 1992 and went on to serve in Africa (in the Central African Republic and Congo) until 1999, when he was named to Syria. He had served in the Czech Republic since 2004.
Also on Saturday, the Holy Father called on Monsignor Antonio Neri, an official of the Congregation for Clergy, to be the under secretary of the same congregation.
He also named as members of the Congregation for Bishops: Cardinal Mauro Piacenza, prefect of the Congregation for Clergy, and retired Bishop Lorenzo Chiarinelli of Viterbo, Italy.
