The Olympic panel established an Interreligious Committee composed of representatives of the world\'s major religions.
The initiative, described on the Web page of the Archdiocese of Turin, aims to \"offer and organize an effective service of assistance of a spiritual order in the Olympic Villages of Turin, Sestriere and Bardonecchia.\"
The religions represented are Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam and Buddhism.
The members of the Interreligious Committee are asked for \"the commitment to collaborate with a spirit of equality and reciprocity within the Olympic venues, in respect of individuals\' religious and moral convictions.\"
To allow all religions to take part in the committee\'s activities, an Assembly of Religions was set up, for representatives of other creeds.
The Interreligious Committee tries to ensure \"a service of spiritual assistance to athletes and members of the Olympic family in agreement with the religious leaders of the teams of the participant nations.\"
