Registration online will be necessary to cross the threshold of the Holy Door during the Jubilee of Mercy that has been proclaimed by Pope Francis to begin December 8, and conclude November 20, 2016.

After specifying the day and time in the appropriate section of the website of the Jubilee of Mercy — www.im.va — users will be able to receive free ticketing.

The system also applies for organized groups, which will be able to select the date and time of their crossing (compatibly with the influx of those already registered), as well as individuals and families, who will be able to go to the reception point of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization, on via della Conciliazione, and thus obtain an access code.

The system was created due to security norms and the need to make the influx of pilgrims easier.

In a statement to Ansa, Monsignor Liberio Andreatta, Vice-President of the Opera Romana Pelllegrinaggi (ORP), said, “One books online on the Jubilee’s Website, specifying the day and time. This will make possible a continuous and ordered flow of pilgrims. One who cannot do so on-line can register at points of reception.”

Along the course  “there will be security controls,” explained Monsignor Andreatta, stressing that “they will be carried out in a very easy way without creating queues or hitches.”

The Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization will soon inform when the online registration will begin.
