After delivering his weekly catechesis today in Paul VI Hall, the Pope addressed the Queen of Peace Community in Polish and said, “This will be the place of continual prayer for peace in the Holy Land and in the entire world.”

The Pontiff asked God to “hear this prayer and fill the hearts of all people with his peace.”

L’Osservatore Romano reported that the altar was presented to Benedict XVI after the audience, and that he blessed it.

After a pilgrimage to the Marian sanctuaries of Poland and Germany, the altar will be place in the Armenian Chapel of the Fourth Station of the Cross in Jerusalem.
