While addressing pilgrims gathered at St. Peter´s Square, the Pope directed “a special greeting to all persons living with some type of handicap” and assured them of his “spiritual closeness.”
John Paul II expressed his appreciation “for all initiatives that foster the full and authentic social integration” of the handicapped.
