Pope Francis will visit Florence this November.
Today, the Holy See Press Office confirmed that the Holy Father will make pastoral visits on November 10th to the Italian cities of Florence and Prato on the occasion of the 5th National Ecclesial Congress of the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI) that will be held from November 9-13.
The Congress’s theme is “A New Humanism through Jesus Christ.’
The Vatican confirmed that Francis, like his predecessor Pope Benedict had done, will take part in the conference of the Italian Bishops which occurs every ten years.
In the past, it has taken taken place in other Italian cities, such as Turin and Verona.
During the last Ecclesial Congress, which was held in Verona, Pope Benedict spoke to the bishops about the state of the Church in Italy and the bishops’ important role.
