Pope Prays for Victims of Gas Explosion in Argentina
Blast Kills 10 People and 60 Wounded

Pope Francis sent a message to Archbishop José Luis Mollaghan of Rosario in Argentina, conveying his sympathy and closeness to the victims of a tragic gas explosion that occurred on Tuesday.
The blast killed 10 people and left over 60 wounded. Twelve victims are still missing. The gas explosion also destroyed a 10-story apartment building as well as damaging several buildings nearby.
The Pope’s message, which was sent by Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, assured the people of Rosario of his closeness and prayers. The Holy Father said he would pray “for the eternal repose of the victims” while expressing his “paternal closeness and solicitude to those wounded in the incident.”
According to Vatican Radio, Pope Francis’ message was read publicly in Rosario during the procession and Mass for the Feast of St. Cajetan.
