Priest Named Bishop of Chicago Eparchy of St. Nicholas

CHICAGO, MARCH 26, 2003 (Zenit.org).- John Paul II has appointed Monsignor Richard Seminack of the clergy of the Eparchy of St. Josaphat in Parma of the Ukraines, U.S.A., as bishop of the Chicago Eparchy of St. Nicholas of the Ukraines.



The area has 10,000 Catholics, 55 priests, 12 permanent deacons and 19 religious.

The bishop-elect was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1942, and was ordained a priest in 1967.
