The US federal government on Monday decided to withdraw its appeal of a federal judge’s decision to allow Plan B without a prescription for girls of any age.

President Barack Obama had previously expressed his concern over the judge’s decision, noting the need for “common sense” in regard to access to medications for young girls.

Now, his administration has reversed policy and removed its appeal of the judge’s ruling.

Pro-life groups are expressing their worries for the health of young girls, as well as concerns that easy access to Plan B enables sexual predators or those who prostitute children.
