The theme of the international novena is the prayer of consecration: “O my Lady, O my Mother …” It may be prayed each month individually or in a group.

Efforts are under way to start the novena worldwide.

The Schoenstatt Projects Office began to prepare the novena on the eve of Advent, for the 150th anniversary of the proclamation of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary. The project was the inspiration of the Schoenstatt youth of Argentina.

The Schoenstatt Movement comprises several million people in more than 80 countries. It has 160 centers, the principal site being the shrine, which is a replica of the small original shrine in the German valley of Schoenstatt.
