Article: Learning from Non-Catholics

Shaker Farhat is right about Bible Study. This is very lacking in Catholic Churches. As a Catholic, I attend a weekly priest lead Bible Study at the local Episcopalian Church since none of the Catholic Churches I’ve attended in my area offered a systematic, chapter-by-chapter, year-round Bible Study. In my current Bible Study, there are other Catholics, from other parishes, that also attend for the same reason.

When we lived overseas for many years, the local Catholic Churches did not offer Bible Study either, so I joined a non-denominational Bible Study group. Perhaps because of this lack of Bible Studies, Catholics I’ve met tend to be unfamiliar with the Bible, or recollect very little from Catholic grammar schools they attended.
