The Secretary General of the United Nations will meet Pope Francis while on a visit to Rome next week.
Ban Ki Moon, who will be in Rome until May 9, met Pope Francis soon after the Holy Father's election last year, during which they discussed humanitarian emergencies and human trafficking.
The UN leader met Pope Benedict in 2007 during which they discussed themes of common interest such as restoring trust in multilateral relations, strengthening of dialogue between cultures, and other international situations that deserved particular attention.
Ban also has meetings scheduled with Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, as well as with heads of specialized UN agencies based in Rome, such as the World Food Program and the Food and Agricultural Organization, reported AGO Press. (D.C.L.)
