NEW DELHI, India, SEPT. 18, 2002 (Zenit.org).- The Catholic Council of India will again have a woman as one of its vice presidents.
Archbishop Cyril Mar Baselios, council president, has appointed Kochurani Joseph of the Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocese to the post. Kochurani replaces Aurelia Pais, who quit the post for personal reasons. Pais was elected in January for a four-year term.
The council comprises bishops, priests and laity who offer their reflections and suggestions on key issues for the Church and the country.
