Worldwide Videoconference on "Christian Spirituality" Planned

VATICAN CITY, DEC. 12, 2002 (Zenit.org).- The Vatican Congregation for Clergy will hold a worldwide videoconference on “Christian Spirituality” this Friday.

The videoconference, the 14th of its kind, begins at noon Rome time and may be followed live or recorded at http://www.clerus.org. The site will eventually post the texts of the speeches.

Scheduled speakers include Cardinal Darío Castrillón Hoyos, prefect of the Vatican congregation; Bishop Bruno Forte, president of the School of Theology of Southern Italy and a member of the International Theological Commission; Bishop Rino Fisichella, rector of the Lateran University; Father Georges Cottier, Papal Household theologian; Cardinal José Saraiva Martins, prefect of the Congregation for Sainthood Causes; and Father Paolo Scarafoni, rector of the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical Athenaeum.

Speaking from Moscow, professor Igor Kowalewski will focus on “The Spirituality of the Eastern Church According to John Paul II’s Apostolic Letter ‘Orientale Lumen.'”
