The theme of the chapter is “Carmel: The Continuing Journey.” The general chapter, held every six years, is the supreme authority within the order. Among other things, it will also elect the members of the General Council for the next six years.
The general chapter will represent all the friars of the order and all the 35 nations where Carmelites are present.
