In reviewing the synod interventions thus far, I do not think I have seen the need expressed for the broader use of media for Scripture education. The context of the Scriptures is critical to understanding what is meant — a video, for example, with the “best of the best” educators, who are faithful to the ,agisterium, explaining to “regular people,” what they need to know to better read and understand the word of God.

Today, there are too many Bible classes where it is a matter of the “blind leading the blind.” People are hungry for God’s word, but many are confused, particularly by the Old Testament and the more difficult passages in the New Testament.

Every parish should have a “Media Resource Center” with books, videos, CD’s, DVD’s, etc. on a variety of critical subjects — that help people live their faith as it was meant to be lived. A video Bible class, along with a workbook, would be great for small groups in homes in people’s own neighborhoods.
