(ZENIT News / Vatican City, 10.19.2023).- The Directorate of Museums and Cultural Heritage has announced that starting on January 1, 2024, there will be a change in the regular admission prices for accessing the Vatican Museums.

The cost of full-price admission will increase to 20 euros (currently 17 euros), while the reduced price for eligible categories will remain unchanged at 8 euros.

According to the Museum Directorate, the need to adjust the ticket price is closely related to the overall increase in costs. “The new rate will ensure the management of the museum complex and the preservation of the artistic, historical, and cultural heritage more effectively and in line with current needs, as already anticipated in the general reorganization of the Vatican Museums’ visitor policies,” as stated in a press release sent to ZENIT.

It also adds, “The ultimate goal remains, as always, to provide a better and more visitor-friendly service, with special attention to the faithful who wish to experience the unique collection of Christian art. The cost of the non-mandatory reservation fee, which is already set at 5 euros, remains unchanged.”
