Support your ZENIT family! We're counting on you!

Dear reader,

If you have the impression that you are close to Rome, that you're a protagonist in the important events and challenges that the Church faces ... and if this is thanks to ZENIT, then we feel that our work is worthwhile.

Technology allows information to circle the planet in a heartbeat: This isn't always something positive. Yet, it is this same technology that enables ZENIT to live its mission as an information channel, spreading the message of Christ and his Church, at the service of the human family.

Blessed Teresa of Calcutta said: "The greatest poverty of mankind is that of not knowing Christ." Her words are a motivation: "People are hungry for God. People need love. Are we aware of this? Do we know this? Do we see it? Do we have eyes to see it? Often our gaze wanders without settling upon anyone ... As if we are here for nothing more than to pass through this world. We should open our eyes, open our eyes and see."

In face of the enormous needs facing today's world, ZENIT is a very tiny reality. But, at the same time, together we can offer a great service. Using all our resources and thanks to the help of thousands of readers worldwide:

-- Today, ZENIT arrives to 500,000 inboxes

-- Tomorrow, we can't even imagine where we will arrive, if our readers continue to help spread ZENIT.

There are so many ways to respond to the love of God and to commit ourselves to communicate this love to others. Each one of these ways implies giving something of ourselves.

Today, the ZENIT team proposes a very specific way to communicate this love of God: Join the ZENIT family and help us as much as you can in this campaign.

As you already know, ZENIT operates thanks almost entirely to the donations of our readers.

To continue our operations, this year we need to raise $1,725,000. This is the amount strictly necessary for ZENIT's survival until the end of this year.

During the last 12 years, ZENIT has begun publishing in seven languages: Spanish, English, French, German, Portuguese, Italian and Arabic.

Past experience shows us that not every language edition can contribute equally. Some language editions have a large readership in countries with very difficult economic situations.

Among these seven, the English edition has the second largest number of readers (Spanish has the most.) Yet in the past, our English-speaking readers have contributed the most to ZENIT's support together with French-speaking ones.

We are confident that this year, too, the generosity of our English-speaking readers will be the key to the success of the campaign. We are asking you, our English-speaking readers, to contribute $400,000 (some 23% of the total).

Can we count on you?

These annual campaigns are always an adventure: What's at stake is nothing less than ZENIT itself. You have a role in this adventure!

The ZENIT team is much more than a few writers, editors and technical staff. You're part of the team. And the mission that we can complete together can be a truly great one.

Thank you in advance.

With my best wishes,

Carmen Lago
