Fatima: 2022 Statistics Show That Pilgrims Have Returned: There Were Five Million Visits

Spain, Poland and Italy are the countries from which most pilgrims arrive, followed by Ukraine, Brazil and the United States.

(ZENIT News /Fatima, 20.02.2023).- In the context of the 44th Meeting for Hoteliers, which was held in the Paul VI Pastoral Center, the numbers were revealed of visits to the Fatima Shrine in Portugal during 2022. 

With almost give million pilgrims (specifically 4,937,294 people), Fatima is one of the most important Marian centers of the world. The figure corresponds to 2022 and shows an increase  of 481% in regard to 2021. The countries from which most pilgrims arrive at the Shrine are:

Spain

Poland

Italy

Ukraine

Brazil

United States

Along with the pilgrims, the number of pilgrimages has also grown (from 1,036 in 2021 to 3,028 in 2022) and the Eucharists (from 5,077 to 8,271). Finally, of the total of pilgrimages arriving in Fatima, 1,036 were Portuguese and 1,992 were foreign.
