Prayer Resources Offered in Midst of Abuse Scandal

DUBLIN, Ireland, MARCH 19, 2010 (Zenit.org).- The Archdiocese of Dublin is providing a selection of texts from Scripture and other prayers and reflections to facilitate a prayerful response to the scandal of sexual abuse that has ripped through the country.

The Web site also proposes prayers of intercession, encouraging a selection of them to be used during the Prayers of the Faithful at Mass.

One prayer was written by a victim of sexual abuse and offered to Archbishop Diarmuid Martin of Dublin to be shared in parishes.

Benedict XVI signed today his pastoral letter to the Church in Ireland, with which he responds to the widespread scandal of sexual abuse by members of the Church. The text is expected to be released Saturday.
